Silver Ridge Rabbitry

Rabbit Supplies for all needs

            Welcome to Silver Ridge Rabbitry

Silver Ridge Rabbitry is excited for the next year.

Silver Ridge Rabbitry is dedicated to breeding healthy, quick gaining rabbits using  purebred New Zealand White rabbits. These rabbits are bred to have healthy litters with a large survival, quick to grow to size and show superb conformation.

We treat our animals like pets and we give them the best life possible. We feed quality grain and Timothy hay, our rabbits especially love the Timothy hay.

Any rabbit that you see on the website for sale will not be shipped, we make frequent trips to Massachucetts through New Hampshire, though we live in Vermont, so we may have the possibility of delivery.

Vist our sale page or our blog to comment on rabbit and bunny issues and how you grow or care for your rabbits.

Everybody has a choice of where their meat comes from, our choice is to raise our own in a healthy enviroment, any hatefull or derogitory posts about rabbit raising and meat will be taken down. Please feel free to help educate people in the care, breeding and habbits of bunnies.

Rabbit is a lean clean meat when you raise it yourself you know where your meat comes from. Homesteading is returning to popularity. Rabbits are one of the only farm animals that don't require a lot of space or land they can be raised in your basement or garage or a backyard shed, or as pet can be trained to go in a litterbox like a cat, and can be quite lovable, licking your face like a dog. Personality differs with every rabbit but the more they are handeled the more gentle they become.

Silver Ridge Rabbitry now has New Zealand Rabbits in Vermont, Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, New York, and Pennsylvania

Included below are the nutrition facts.

Summer Rabbits Vs Winter Rabbits

I have noticed that summer kits and winter kits are different in the way they grow and develop, below are some photos, the winter kit has a thicker coat, and noticeably shorter ears, and a shorter body. The summer kit (not really summer just raised in my basement at a constant 70 degrees.) has much longer ears and and a longer body.  Please feel free to go to my blog to comment on why these rabbitsfrom the same genetics (the mothers were sisters) are different.

New Rabbitry Set-up!!!

Silver Ridge Rabbitry is pleased to anounce that we have changed our set-up, before we were raising out of our garage, not an ideal situation, now we are cooking, we have stacking cages from our manufacturer, in a milk house adapted from my father's cow barn, generations of farmers, now in my family. My new set-up is stacking cages with trays. It is so organized and neat, and I hope to keep it that way, I can not say enough about setting it (the rabbitry) up once and doing it right the first time, I just sold off my used cages, that didn't fit into the set-up, now I have new and wonderful chalenges with my set-up. I can not stress how much you want to think about your set-up (cages feeders watering systems, etc.) As much as you want to find the best stock to begin with. If you begin with great stock and the set-up you can deal with plenty of space, a barn with poop falling, or stacking trays in basement or a garage or shed. Rabbits are a commitment, so start with the best stock and supplies. Please feel free to contact us if you are interested in seeing our set-up. 802-371-9387
